Milwaukee Bucks: Stats standing out – 47 steals from Donte DiVincenzo and Jrue Holiday

Although they are at very different points in their careers, Donte DiVincenzo and Jrue Holiday both have earned reputations as defensive studs. Many wondered how the two would fit side-by-side with the Bucks in the backcourt, and so far, it has been a perfect match.

Taking over as Milwaukee’s starting point guard, Holiday has the second-most steals in the league at 28. The two-time All-Defensive honoree has showcased his prowess on that side of the floor all season long, and he continues to make an immeasurable impact with each passing game.  Meanwhile, his running mate DiVincenzo ranks 11th with 19 total steals as he too continues to make his presence felt defensively.

With a combined 47 steals, DiVincenzo and Holiday are the second-ranked tandem in that department, behind just the Cleveland Cavaliers duo of Larry Nance Jr. and Andre Drummond. These two are making their opponents work for every basket, and just at the right time as they have a tall task ahead as they travel to the Barclay’s Center in a matchup with the Brooklyn Nets Monday night.

This duo faces the challenge of handling Brooklyn’s new backcourt consisting of James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Both DiVincenzo and Holiday will certainly have their hands full trying to slow these two down in this top-heavy matchup. Still, given how well Milwaukee’s duo has played defensively this season, this could be box-office material.
