By Dalton Sell
Ray Allen is a name that the Milwaukee Bucks and their fans will remember forever and hopefully hold in high regard.
Allen spent the first six and a half seasons of his career with the Bucks from 1996-2003 and has earned a reputation as one of the best to ever wear that Milwaukee uniform. All these years later, the sharpshooting guard has still not forgotten about his roots in the city where he started his Hall of Fame-worthy NBA career.

The 10-time All-Star spoke with FanSided’s Mark Carman to promote the FreeStyle Libre 2, hoping to raise awareness about diabetes and the importance of glucose monitoring.
Allen’s son, Walker, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 17 months old, and this promotion hits close to home for the father of five and NBA Hall of Famer.
Ray Allen discussed many engaging topics in the interview, including a conversation he held with Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday.
With Holiday having spent the past seven years with the New Orleans Pelicans, the trade was certainly hard for the star guard. Following a heartfelt goodbye to the city, Holiday prepared for his next chapter in Milwaukee, one that would be far different than anything he had previously experienced, both on and off the court.
Holiday just played in his 16th game with the franchise, and Ray Allen has seemingly kept his eye on the guard. In his interview with Carman, Allen detailed a conversation he recently held with Holiday about his first impressions of the Bucks’ organization and his ultimate desire to win a championship:
"“I had a call last night with Jrue Holiday, and I was asking him how he liked Milwaukee and just being in that organization. [We were] talking about how great the organization is and being a part of what they’re doing there. I told him I won my first championship in my 12th year, and this is his 12th year. So, it just requires patience and knowing that if you continue to put the right stuff out there and work on your tasks, you’re going to end up in a situation where you’re going to get really close. Getting really close, you get the bug when you start to realize you’re on the verge of that.”"
With Jrue Holiday on the roster, the Milwaukee Bucks feel like they have put themselves in the best position to contend for a title.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been on the verge of a championship for two consecutive seasons but have fallen short both times. After reshaping their roster this offseason, fans were ecstatic to welcome the one-time All-Star to Milwaukee. Many immediately pegged Holiday as the missing piece for the Milwaukee Bucks in their quest for a title, and the guard has seemingly been on the exact same page.
So far, he has been the perfect third complement this season, averaging 16.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and a career-high 1.9 steals per game. Along with his stats, the guard has been an immeasurable confidence booster on both ends, able to guard whomever he is assigned defensively while orchestrating the offense on the opposite end when called upon.
Holiday had already previously cemented his status as one of the best two-way guards in the association, but pairing him alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton has allowed him to showcase it on a premier contender. Since he stepped foot in Milwaukee, Holiday made it clear that he wants to win a title more than anything, and he believes this team is capable of achieving that.
Fans have quickly grown attached to Jrue Holiday during his early tenure with the team, and it is clear to see why.
