Second key to victory against Utah Jazz — Milwaukee Bucks must win the 3-point battle

At this point, defending the 3-pointer should be listed as one of the top priorities for the Bucks every game. Milwaukee’s perimeter defense has been atrocious this season, and the Jazz already proved in their first meeting of the season with the Bucks that they can take advantage.

The Jazz hit an impressive 25 triples in their first matchup with the Bucks, and their stellar shooting from behind the arc is not a coincidence. Utah is one of the best shooting teams in the association as they’re shooting 40.2 percent from distance while hitting an average of 17 such shots per game, the latter mark being good for first in the league.

If the Bucks give the Jazz the same open looks that they did in their first meeting, the rematch could end in the same result.

On the other hand, Milwaukee will also have to hit their own triples, as Utah is one of the better teams defending the 3-point line in the association. With their opponents hitting just 35.3 percent of their shots from long-range, the Jazz have what it takes to slow down the Bucks’ shooting. Ironically, the Bucks boast the exact same 3-point percentage as the Jazz at 40.2 percent, and time will tell if they can overcome Utah’s perimeter defense.

In short, the Bucks need to emphasize stopping the Jazz before they get hot from 3-point land while simultaneously hitting their own shots. It seems simple, but with Milwaukee, it has been anything but that this season.
