The Milwaukee Bucks’ perimeter defense has been a falling trend.

The Bucks have been stuck between a rock and a hard place without having Jrue Holiday over the last week.

Yes, Bryn Forbes has had no trouble stepping in and providing some much-needed sharpshooting. Meanwhile, Donte DiVincenzo has stood as one of the Bucks’ hardest working defenders, but it all hasn’t turned out to bea viable mix where the Bucks have been able to withstand Holiday’s absence, especially defensively.

That was only made worse by the premier scoring guards the Bucks recently faced over their road trip, whether that was Jamal Murray, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Donovan Mitchell and so on.

From that crop of guards, every player but Murray had no trouble shaking off the Bucks’ perimeter defenders and Milwaukee was hard pressed to find a defensive solution that wouldn’t present further problems elsewhere.

Of course, this is what comes with the territory of being without an integral player like Holiday has been over his first season in Milwaukee. The 30-year-old takes on so many responsibilities, especially defensively, and the Bucks just don’t have the personnel behind him to weather being without him on that side of the ball.

Clearly, Holiday’s health comes first in this kind of situation, but the Bucks will look forward to having their dependable guard back in the fold when the time comes.
