Donte DiVincenzo’s shooting has been a falling trend for the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks have obviously been without their most well-rounded guard in Holiday for the last two weeks. His absence has certainly made life harder for all Bucks players and that pressure has extended on down to Donte DiVincenzo as his recent performances suggest.

With Bryn Forbes having originally been inserted in place of Holiday, that put more pressure on DiVincenzo to take on high-level defensive assignments, given Forbes’ defensive limitations. Taking into consideration that added pressure on the defensive end, it seems DiVincenzo was overtaxed on that end of the floor and resulted in an offensive downturn, especially shooting the ball.

In the Bucks’ four games this week, DiVincenzo went 5-for-23 from 3-point range (21.7 percent), though he did end up cracking double digits in three of those four tilts. Still, the inefficiency that DiVincenzo played at was indicative of being without an integral piece like Holiday as well as fellow Bucks player struggling such as Khris Middleton.

Only in his third season, DiVincenzo is still hitting a career-high 38.8 percent of his triples while averaging 10 points per game and has stabilized after cooling off from such a hot start to the season.

Hopefully, Holiday’s impending return will relive some of the pressure that has been placed on DiVincenzo in the interim and his scoring and shooting can improve with more room to operate with.
