Milwaukee Bucks: Five realistic trade targets for team to pursue
By Dalton Sell
Fourth realistic trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks — Alec Burks, New York Knicks
Looking for a sparkplug off the bench offensively, the Bucks should make a run at veteran guard Alec Burks from the New York Knicks.
After a breakout year last season, Burks took his talents to the Big Apple in free agency, and he has put forth his contributions on this rejuvenated Knicks team. Primarily coming off the bench, the guard is averaging 11.1 points on .405/.402/.839 shooting splits, 4.3 rebounds, and two assists per game this season.
While Burks’ name has not been confirmed in any rumors floating through the wire, the Bucks should call and check his availability. The Knicks have a surplus of bodies in the backcourt aside from Burks, including Derrick Rose, Elfrid Payton, Immanuel Quickley, and Frank Ntilikina. Perhaps they could be willing to part ways with one of them, preferably Burks, if they get something of value in return.
With backup point guard D.J. Augustin struggling, the Bucks could use another guard like Burks to help conjure up some offense off the bench and help put points on the board. The scoring and floor spacing he provides would help him fit right in seamlessly, and his deal is somewhat digestible financially for the Bucks as he is on the books for $6 million this year.
If Milwaukee is looking for a score-first guard off the bench, Alec Burks could be their guy to target on the trade market.
