Thanasis Antetokounmpo is the third star of the week for the Milwaukee Bucks

Some Bucks fans may still be scratching their heads at how the Bucks have won all these games when Thanasis Antetokounmpo has played a more prominent role in the rotation.

Even in what is very limited minutes, Thanasis’ presence and endless energy and hustle has ignited an emotional spark that the Bucks have otherwise lacked when the elder Antetokounmpo has been relegated to garbage time minutes or have had DNP-CD’s.

As fellow BTBP writer Daniel Barrueco extensively laid out, there has been real value to how Antetokounmpo has carved out his role within the Bucks’ rotation this season. Thanasis is always willing to sacrifice his body for the betterment of the team and the Bucks are now 8-2 in the games where he earns 10 or more minutes in a given game.

There are definite limitations to Antetokounmpo’s game and it’s a significant reason why he doesn’t get more minutes under head coach Mike Budenholzer. But the emotional lift and high-level effort he brings to the court has been a culture setter for the Bucks this season.
