How do the Milwaukee Bucks’ assets compare to the Golden State Warriors?

From one underwhelming team to another, it’s been a rollercoaster of a season for the Golden State Warriors.

Of course, the Warriors’ highly anticipated season was dealt a devastating blow before it began with the injury to Klay Thompson. Now as they continue to bide their time in what is another transition year, they’re 20-20 and are the ninth seed in the West, placing them firmly within the play-in zone.

Now whether they remain in that realm remains to be seen and it’s certainly why they’ve been a team to watch for going into the deadline for a variety of reasons, especially as they have $9.3 million disabled player exception after Thompson’s injury. That would obviously help the Warriors absorb Bjelica’s expiring salary and The Athletic’s Anthony Slater ($$) reinforced the Warriors’ interest in the Serbian international.

While the Warriors have some highly alluring picks, such as a top-3 protected first rounder from the Minnesota Timberwolves, they have the solid pile of assets that could make it the Kings’ while if that’s the direction they go down.

The biggest question the Warriors are asking at this time is whether they want to add more money to their towering tax bill, especially as they fight for a spot in the play-in games. The answer to that question will certainly dictate what they ultimately do going into the deadline.
