Second free agent point guard the Milwaukee Bucks could target – Emmanuel Mudiay

While there have been no prior connections to this point, Milwaukee’s point guard search could lead them to a former lottery pick in Emmanuel Mudiay.

Projected to be a perennial star, the guard was selected seventh overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2015 NBA Draft. However, he never quite lived up to his potential after a promising rookie season. Also spending time with the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz, Mudiay has shown that while he might not be a star that many pegged him to become, he can be a serviceable point guard in the starting lineup or off the bench.

Throughout five seasons and 300 career regular season games, the guard averaged 11 points on a .401/.323/.744 slash line, 2.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Although not needle-tipping, Mudiay’s numbers could certainly help this Milwaukee team right now. The 25-year-old could serve as a viable backup point guard that is capable of scoring and ballhandling.

Going unsigned this past offseason after a short playoff run with Utah in the NBA bubble, the Bucks could look to give him another shot in the league to shore up their depth. While he is not a household name, the guard checks off several boxes that this team could utilize at a position that they need to fill.
