Brook Lopez is the Milwaukee Bucks’ second star of the week.

There’s no question that Brook Lopez‘s third season with the Bucks has had its fair share of ups and downs.

However, Lopez turned in some of his finer performances on the season, all of which started off with a 22-point performance, along with four blocks against the Wizards. Over the Bucks’ three wins, Lopez averaged 15.7 points on .516/.286/.917 shooting, 6 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.3 assists across 32.2 minutes per contest.

Lopez’s play on both ends of the floor has steadily kicked on as the year has gone on. He’s scored in double digits in each of the Bucks’ last 10 games and Lopez’s defensive standing regained its prominence, especially as the Bucks have sorted out their issues on that side of the ball.

Milwaukee’s addition of Tucker has given them the ability to throw out different kinds of looks and personnel as they see fit, depending on the game state and the matchups they will go against heading into their playoff run.

For as much as Lopez’s usage is tied to the Bucks’ drop-back scheme, he’s re-learning to defend in different ways and more in space, which certainly displays his limited mobility.

Still, the Bucks don’t have a player of size and defensive capabilities that can hold up against the premier big men that they will have to go up against en route to an NBA Finals bid. Now as he’s find his mark at this point in the season, Lopez will continue playing an integral part in the Bucks’ overall foundation.
