Milwaukee Bucks: Taking stock of every pending free agent case
Looking at Jeff Teague’s free agent stock for the Milwaukee Bucks
It was only a few weeks ago when Jeff Teague first arrived to Milwaukee as the Bucks signed Teague for the rest of the season after the veteran guard was previously waived by the Orlando Magic.
Filling a need the Bucks had to address in their rotation and their guard depth, or lack thereof, behind Jrue Holiday, Teague made a seamless transition upon entering the mix. That has since cooled in the weeks and games since, Teague is up to averaging 5.8 points on .434/.250/.864 shooting, 3.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 16.7 minutes per game across 12 appearances.
Considering that Teague had originally signed a veteran minimum contract with the Boston Celtics over the offseason, the 32-year-old is firmly at the point of helping potential contenders.
Now whether Teague offers something of value to those contenders will certainly be tested when the postseason rolls around. Even in limited minutes, Teague will have some reps to prove he’s still a capable contributor in this league, but it remains to be seen what comes of that challenge.
