P.J. Tucker will receive hefty playoff minutes for the Milwaukee Bucks

As one of the most well-rounded defenders in the association, trading for P.J. Tucker in March was a massive addition for the Bucks.

The versatility that the recently turned 36-year-old brings to the table has the potential to unlock something special for the Bucks. This was evident in Milwaukee’s two-game miniseries with Brooklyn this past week, where the veteran forward spent most of his time on the floor glued to Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant. While stopping Durant is virtually impossible, Tucker did his part to slow down the four-time scoring champion.

Top-tier matchups like those are precisely why the Bucks traded for Tucker in the first place. The forward can match up against the best in the business defensively, and having him on the roster gives head coach Mike Budenholzer another versatile weapon to utilize in the rotation. Once the postseason rolls around, Tucker should see an increase in minutes as the Bucks throw him at some of the best players in the world on a nightly basis.

That defensive prowess will likely keep Tucker on the floor in pivotal moments over Milwaukee’s other big men like Brook Lopez or Bobby Portis.
