Bryn Forbes must step up for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Playoffs

With the guard rotation shorthanded, Bryn Forbes proved himself to be a massive factor in the Bucks’ comeback win in Game 4 over the Heat yesterday.

Catching the hot hand yet again, Forbes was letting it fly with pure confidence in his 25 minutes versus Miami by scoring 22 points off the bench. The guard did virtually all of his scoring from behind the arc, where he was fantastic by shooting 7-for-14 on the afternoon. With Milwaukee struggling to hit their triples early on, Forbes provided some immediate relief in that regard.

Following Saturday’s win, Forbes officially finished the series with averages of 15 points per game while shooting 52.5 percent from the floor and 48.5 percent from deep. Some believed that the guard could have been a potential secret weapon for the Bucks heading into the postseason and he undoubtedly proved them right consistently throughout this matchup with Miami.

Do not be surprised if Forbes winds up being Milwaukee’s starting shooting guard at some point during these playoffs. Many were calling for him to fill the void when DiVincenzo went down, and although head coach Mike Budneholzer rolled with Connaughton, Forbes may force his hand if these stellar efforts become sustainable.

Although he might not be such a secret after such a stellar series, Forbes is someone that could potentially be a game-changer for this team, particularly with DiVincenzo out. His minutes will continue to increase due to that lights-out shooting within his arsenal and the guard must pay it off by continuing to let it fly with confidence.
