How the Milwaukee Bucks can win Game 4 versus the Brooklyn Nets

Following the first three games, it is clear that the Bucks have lost their offensive identity in this series against the Nets.

Averaging a league-best 120.1 points during the regular season and 118.5 per game during their first round sweep of the Miami Heat, Milwaukee has lost their way offensively. They are currently mustering up an average of just 93 points over these first three games, and they are doing it with unbelievable inefficiency. Shooting just 42.2 percent from the field and an abysmal 22.7 percent from behind the arc, this team desperately needs to find their stroke on the offensive end if they will make this series competitive.

The resurgence of Middleton and solid bounce-back game from Antetokounmpo provide a glimmer of hope in that department. Combing for 68 of the Bucks’ 86 points, these two did everything possible to keep the team’s postseason hopes alive after enduring their share of struggles in the first two games. However, even if they can keep the ball rolling, the Bucks will need more contributions from the rest of the supporting cast offensively.

Jrue Holiday finished the last game with just nine points, albeit the last one was clutch as it proved to be the game-winning bucket with 11 seconds left. Brook Lopez shot just 1-of-7 from the field and logged three points. Although the second unit’s minutes were cut short because head coach Mike Budenholzer finally granted his starters extended minutes, they also finished with just six points with some poor shooting splits. So while Antetokounmpo and Middleton will lead the charge, they will need more contributions from the rest of the crew.

Milwaukee’s offense has also stalled at times because of their recent carelessness with the basketball. Racking up 40 turnovers to just 47 assists to this point, the Bucks need to get a grip and stop giving the Nets easy opportunities to put extra points on the board. If they can limit these and finally see some shots fall in the net for a change, they should be in good shape. Getting the offense flowing does not guarantee a victory, but it undoubtedly improves the Bucks’ chances, given how the first three games have played out.
