What to expect in Game 4 between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets

Both the Bucks and Nets played far from their best basketball in Game 3, and they will look to get back on track in this crucial Game 4.

Representing themselves as the two highest-scoring teams in the association heading into the playoffs, both Milwaukee and Brooklyn finishing short of 90 points after 48 minutes will almost certainly not happen again. However, while the Bucks are still looking for their stroke offensively, the Nets were firing like a well-oiled machine during the first two matchups, and they could snap out of their spell from Game 3 in an instant.

It is improbable that Brooklyn comes out and lays an egg once more. They have too many talented pieces offensively, even with three-time scoring champion James Harden sidelined, and they will get their share of points. The biggest question is whether the Bucks can match that production and go toe-to-toe with them. These managed to win a gritty, defensive-oriented matchup in Game 3, but they will have to play far better offense to survive this time around.

There should be some chippiness between these two teams also following the brief skirmish in Game 3 between Kevin Durant and P.J. Tucker. The latter has been playing robust defense on Durant all throughout the series, and tensions flared as the two went nose-to-nose to exchange words after Tucker took objection to a foul call. Milwaukee’s bruiser has not been shy about letting his thoughts be known, as evidenced in this mix-up last game. There will almost undoubtedly be some tension in the building stemming from the incident, which should just add fuel to the fire in this matchup.

Just as they were entering the last game, the Bucks should be increasingly motivated entering this matchup. With a grand opportunity to rebound from an awful 0-2 start by tying up the series 2-2, winning this game could shift all the momentum in their favor. Milwaukee knows what is at stake as they look to defend homecourt advantage at Fiserv Forum, and time will tell if they can ultimately earn themselves a win.
