The Milwaukee Bucks must incorporate ball movement in offense for Game 6 vs. Nets

By and large, the Bucks have forgotten that their offense works at its best when the ball is moving as well as incorporating more player movement.

It’s one thing to hit shots just as we saw them do for much of Game 5, but that only goes so far, especially against a Nets team that isn’t short on firepower. Milwaukee’s offense has dried up for large portions of this series and keeping pace with Brooklyn isn’t enough.

Per NBA.com/stats, the Bucks made 218 passes throughout the contest, which is right along what they have averaged throughout the series (215). Along with that, the Bucks’ paltry 18 assists on 41 made field goals generated their third-lowest assist percentage of the playoffs so far.

All of this isn’t to say the Bucks don’t have solid shot creators such as Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton. For all of his faults and what we’re seeing right now, too, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ability to break down defenses and blow by Blake Griffin routinely has been staples for the Bucks’ offense.

However, it just hasn’t been enough and it hasn’t maximized the wealth of options they have at their disposal. The Bucks know they can’t do it just on their own as much as they have tried to.
