. Opponent. ATLANTA HAWKS . A-. The biggest takeaway from this matchup was the top-notch effort from Trae Young, who elevated the Atlanta Hawks to victory by scoring 48 points. Shooting 17-of-34 overall from the floor, the Bucks had no answer for the guard as he exploited their defense on multiple occasions, both in the paint and from behind the arc. Also dishing out 11 assists, this playoff performance will go down in history as one of the best by a 22-year-old. Young got some assists from his running mate John Collins, who scored 23 points on 68.8 shooting from the field while also gathering 15 rebounds. Shooting just 1-of-5 from the outside, Collins earned most of his baskets near the hoop, where he bullied his way and got whatever he wanted with little resistance from the Bucks. These two were practically toying with the Bucks as they connected on multiple lob passes – one of which was a highlight reel worthy alley-oop thrown off the glass – to rip the heart out of Bucks fans far and wide. Hats off to these two budding stars on a pair of phenomenal games in this opening matchup as they continue showing the outside world that they indeed belong on the big stage. It goes without saying that the Bucks understand limiting these two will be critical in tomorrow’s Game 2.
