Milwaukee Bucks: Why Nah’Shon Hyland would be a good pick at 31
By Jacob Maier
Nah’Shon Hyland’s facilitating could use some work, but he could thrive with the Milwaukee Bucks
One of the weaknesses NBA scouts have noticed about Nah’Shon Hyland is his consistency in finding his teammates.
His assist numbers were low in his two years at VCU, but he has the ability to improve. Hyland has the ability to make impressive passes, and a more spread NBA floor could be just what he needs to improve in that department. Nah’Shon impressed at the NBA Combine with his passing ability, and the improvements raised his draft stock. If that were to continue, he could be a beneficial piece as the Bucks’ facilitator in the bench unit.
In the event that Hyland got to be paired with players such as Giannis Antetokounmpo or Brook Lopez, we could see his passing improve tremendously. While Hyland does have room to improve like all draft prospects, he would be in a perfect system in Milwaukee while playing alongside players that he would complement perfectly.
Milwaukee could use a backup point guard, and Nah’Shon Hyland could fit perfectly in that role with the Bucks. Although there are some things to work on, Hyland is a promising prospect who is a solid 3-and-D type player. If Hyland is available at pick 31, Milwaukee would be hardpressed to find a better prospect for them.
Hyland is mocked to go in the late first to the early second round. If he is given a chance from the Bucks, he has the ability to grow and thrive as a professional player.
