The Milwaukee Bucks could pursue Doug McDermott in 2021 NBA Free Agency

The Bucks will never glance over free agents that can space the floor, and Doug McDermott is a player they could take a look at.

McDermott will enter unrestricted free agency after a career year with the Indiana Pacers where he averaged 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. What stood out the most from the Creighton product’s career-best campaign was his impressive shooting efficiency, knocking down 53.2 percent of his field goals, including 38.8 percent of his triples. Numbers like that will make him a hot commodity on the market this offseason for teams in the hunt for shooting.

Although those numbers may have priced him out of Milwaukee’s range, they could reasonably throw their name into the mix. After all, they already have looked into trading for him in the past, as HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto previously reported that the Bucks and Pacers kicked the tires on a deal that involved swapping McDermott for Ersan Ilyasova. Although that never materialized to becoming anything significant, perhaps the Bucks could look to make another run at the forward in free agency rather than the trade market.

It might seem like a stretch, but given McDermott’s perfect fit on the perimeter, it would not be surprising to see the Bucks linked to him once again in free agency.
