The Milwaukee Bucks should target Danny Green in 2021 NBA Free Agency

Sticking with sharpshooting targets still on the market, Danny Green and J.J. Redick both fit into that category, but the former would be a clear upgrade.

Green has shot 40.1 percent from 3-point territory over his 12-year career, playing a key role on several championship-winning teams, having three rings to show for it. Whether it be Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, or many others, Green has played alongside some of the greats to play this game and hit outside shots. Next on that list could certainly be Giannis Antetokounmpo, who would benefit mightily having a player like Green camped out on the perimeter.

In addition to his sweet-shooting, Green would help bulk up this already formidable defensive unit. The swingman can guard multiple positions and would help round out a lethal defensive-minded starting five. The Bucks will be seeking defense after P.J. Tucker signed with the Miami Heat on the opening day of free agency, and Green would help alleviate that issue to some degree. While he might not be up to par with Tucker, having another robust wing defender is a bonus.

Green makes complete sense for the Bucks, and it appears they are of the same line of thinking as they have reportedly reached out to him. NBC Sports’ Harrison Sanford noted that the Bucks are among the teams that have reached out to the sharpshooter. Perhaps the team’s $5.9 million MLE could be in play here, but only time will tell.
