Khris Middleton could look to make his first All-NBA team this season for the Milwaukee Bucks

I feel confident in saying that if Khris Middleton can achieve the first two goals, he will achieve this final goal as well. He has been a borderline All-NBA player the last two seasons (and I mean, very borderline in 2019-20) but hasn’t broken through for his first selection on the team.

Middleton, for all intents and purposes, should have been on the All-NBA team in 2019-20, when he narrowly missed hitting 50/40/90, but due to a technicality with the voting process, was left off in favor of two players that received fewer voting points than him.

It was very disappointing to see that voters agreed he had a much greater case than Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons or Houston’s Russell Westbrook, but because he didn’t have a defined position, he was left off. I could rant about how the NBA needs to change their voting process, but the fact is that Middleton has yet to make an All-NBA team.

If he hits the previous two goals, the only thing that could hold him back are his rest days. I’m anticipating head coach Mike Budenholzer will give Middleton and Jrue Holiday plenty of rest days throughout the year after their long basketball season.

Regardless, Middleton has shown a constant willingness to work on his game and improve. None of these goals are out of the realm of possibility for the Bucks star, and I expect to be writing about how he hit all of them at the end of the 2021-22 season.
