An overall grade for Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s deal with the Milwaukee Bucks

It was inevitable that the Bucks would be bringing Thanasis back next season, and this new deal ultimately appears solid.

Many will immediately jump to the notion that Thanasis is practically guaranteed a spot on the roster because he is Giannis’ brother, but that is solely not the case. After all, he proved this past season that he could have an impact for the team out on the court, and while it might not have been the most incredible impact statistically, it was a boost. He is an energy play, someone who can bring an edge on the floor whenever he hears his name called.

When he does not play, Thanasis will keep that same vibrant presence intact as he roots for his team from the sidelines. He stays fueled up at all times, and having the energy in the locker room will help keep heads high. It also does not hurt to have him chirping in Giannis’ ear at times, which could often be soon throughout the season, to keep him motivated at all times.

All in all, this was bound to happen, and the Bucks did a fine job with it. Whether he sees another increase in minutes next season or not, the team retained a fan-favorite that brings bunches of energy on a team-friendly deal to fill out the roster.
