Mamadi Diakite and Jordan Nwora give mixed results in the Milwaukee Bucks’ loss to Washington Wizards

Jordan Nwora and Mamadi Diakite are two of the more experienced players on this Bucks team, and they performed far differently against the Wizards.

Diakite looked relatively solid throughout by scoring 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting, including hitting two of his four shots from distance. The big man’s offense has been hit or miss in the few games he has played to this point, but this was among his best performances. He was nearing a double-double but fell just short as he hauled in nine rebounds for the game. While he did not block any shots, Diakite made waves defensively by grabbing three steals to cement his solid afternoon, giving the team something positive to take away.

On the other hand, Nwora struggled mightily, which is nothing new throughout these past few games. The 22-year-old has not managed to find his footing to any degree, which remained all the same as he scored 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the floor, including a vile 1-of-8 from deep in this loss. For whatever reason, the forward has gone cold offensively, unable to get anything to drop with consistency, which has clearly plagued the Bucks. Not to mention that he also turned the ball over a whopping seven times. Safe to say that this was far from Nwora’s shining moment.

For most, Nwora was the player that fans were so eager to see play in the Summer League after displaying potential throughout his rookie campaign. It seems feasible to say that he has been a letdown to this point, but things are not over just yet. Nwora desperately needs to find his stride, and he will have the opportunity to do so as the Bucks take on the Denver Nuggets later today.
