Goal No. 2 – Bobby Portis should shoot above 40 percent from 3-point territory for the Milwaukee Bucks
Among the many surprises for the Bucks last season was how well Portis shot the basketball from behind the arc.
For a team that thrives off their success from outside shooting, Portis fit in seamlessly as he hit 47.1 percent of his triples last season. That mark was not only a career-high for the six-year man, but it was also the third most efficient mark in the association. Although that incredible efficiency faded throughout the postseason, the Bucks are hoping that his regular season shooting is not a one-time thing. Given their reliance on that shot and how well it allowed Portis to play next to Giannis Antetokounmpo, they will need another efficient outing from him next season.
While shattering his career-best 47 percent mark from last season would be very welcoming for the Bucks, seeing Portis shoot above 40 percent from the outside seems reasonable also. While he does not shoot many triples on average, he knows how to knock them down with efficiency, which bodes well for his chances to achieve this goal. Tie that in with the green light that this team has given him from the outside, and his confidence to keep letting it fly will certainly be there.
The big man’s ability to stretch the floor only heightens his importance to this team, and as he looks to defend the title next season, another efficient shooting season would be welcoming.
