Milwaukee Bucks: Analyzing the bolstered 2021-22 power forward rotation

Semi Ojeleye will look to bring strong defense at power forward for the Milwaukee Bucks
The newest face at power forward for the Bucks is a former Boston Celtic, Semi Ojeleye.
Ojeleye, a Southern Methodist University alum, spent the first four years of his career in Boston and carved out his role as a defensive specialist. Ojeleye has the capability to defend big men, as he stands at 6 feet-6 inches and 240 pounds. His size is comparable to former Buck P.J. Tucker, and the comparisons were certainly thrown around following the signing. Ojeleye has always stood out as a defender, but he notched his career-high in points last season with a 24 point outing. His offense needs some very fine-tuning, but his level of defense will be important to Milwaukee.
In past years, Ojeleye was tasked with defending Antetokounmpo in matchups between Milwaukee and Boston. His level of defense was not enough to shut Giannis down, but Ojeleye remained strong against the Greek Freak. His defensive capabilities are intriguing, and a change of scenery could be needed for the 26-year-old to break out.
Shifting to next season, Ojeleye will look to piggyback off his best offensive season while continuing to bring strong defense. Ojeleye could find himself in the Tucker role from last season, low scoring with high-intensity defense. He will be surrounded by excellent shooters in the second unit, and his level of defense will be crucial in holding leads with Giannis on the bench. He should be a reliable second option as he looks to find his offensive rhythm.
His offense won’t be a necessity, but if he is able to refine his game on that end, the Bucks will be in an excellent spot. Ojeleye brings a level of defense that compliments the Bucks perfectly. Keep an eye on the young forward as he looks to make a splash with his new team.
