Milwaukee Bucks: Ranking the 5 best uniforms in team’s storied history
By Adam Zippan
Milwaukee Bucks jersey ranking No 4. — 1978/79-1985/86
The home and road uniforms during this era are what defines the Bucks for me. These uniforms depict a feeling of both nostalgia and vintage from a personal perspective.
The Christmas tree-colored stripes on the sides of both the home and road jerseys blended in so well with both the home whites and road dark green jerseys. The large red “BUCKS” font on the front of jerseys with the red striped trim down both uniforms is a sight for sore eyes also.
The younger fanbase might not appreciate the vintage, classic, and retro look of these uniforms, given that they have never seen the more recent teams wear anything quite like it. Then again, I am more old-school and have an appreciation for such a look.
Make no mistake about it, seeing images and highlights of Bucks greats like Marques Johnson, Sidney Moncrief, Junior Bridgeman, and Bob Lanier in these makes me wish the Bucks would bring these uniforms back as the alternates at some point in the future. Fans are often clamoring for the purple jerseys to make a return as the NBA dives more into throwback-Esque jerseys, but these would be a solid choice all the same.
