No. 2 Bobby Portis will have 50/40/80 shooting splits for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021-22

In his first season with the Bucks, Portis had a career year with his shooting percentages as he shot the lights out from all over the floor.

Portis fit in perfectly with a Bucks team that thrives off of excellent spacing and outside shooting. Last year marked the first time in his career that he shot 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three. While a repeat of a 47.1 percent 3-point mark is unlikely, he should still be able to maintain a shooting percentage good enough to keep 50/40/80 in play. His ability to knock down threes will be crucial in him duplicating his impact from last season.

Portis’ physical play style allows him to get to the paint to score and draw fouls. What makes the 50/40/80 prediction bold is the fact that Portis has never shot 80 percent from the free throw line in his career. He enters the season with a career free throw percentage of 75.2 percent. Having played a full season in Milwaukee and having a year to adjust to the rims at Fiserv Forum, this could be the year that Portis cracks the 80 percent mark for the first time.

One of the big reasons why the sixth man had such a big impact last season was his ability to space the floor. Even if he doesn’t hit the 50/40/80 shooting marks, he will still need to have an efficient shooting season if he wants to be the same force that he was during the team’s championship run.
