No. 3 – Bobby Portis will average a double-double with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021-22

This may be the boldest of the three predictions, seeing as Portis has a role as a bench player and plays behind a dominant tandem of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez.

It may not happen this season, or maybe even at all, but with Lopez climbing in age, Portis may have to take on more minutes and a bigger role as time goes on. He also has shown that he is able to play alongside Lopez when Antetokounmpo needs a breather. His versatility also allows him to slide into lineups alongside Antetokounmpo when the Bucks want to throw in a more switchable defender into the mix. Budenholzer even showed a willingness during the playoffs to play all three at the same time, which was certainly interesting.

Whatever the case, Portis will be a key rotational piece for the Bucks this coming season. With increased minutes, he may be able to increase his rebounding averages to double-double levels.

In 28 games with Washington during the 2018-2019 season, Portis averaged a career-high 8.6 rebounds while playing a career-high of 27.4 minutes per game. Being on a Bucks team that puts tremendous emphasis on inside defense and rebounding, Portis could take a career jump in that department. Taking into account how hard he plays the game, he will always hustle for any loose ball. Depending on how many minutes and how the Bucks plan to use him, it shouldn’t be out of reason to see it as a possibility at the very least.

Everyone saw how important Portis was to Milwaukee’s championship run last season, and they are reliabed to have him back to defend their crown. If any of these predictions come true, Milwaukee will once again be a very scary opponent for the rest of the league.
