Milwaukee Bucks: Ranking Khris Middleton among best second options: No. 1 – James Harden

Not too many former league MVPs are the second option on a team, but James Harden is among the rare exceptions. The disgruntled guard was traded to the Brooklyn Nets last season to play alongside Kevin Durant, which formed one of the most lethal one-two punches in the modern NBA, which does not even account for their third fiddle in Kyrie Irving.

Harden had a down year statistically by his typical standards, but injuries and the transition to a new team played a part in that. Still, everyone knows that Harden is a player that averaged an astounding 33.7 points, 6.2 points, and 7.9 assists over the past three seasons. The 2018 MVP has been a top player in this league for the past several seasons and having him as the second option for the Nets should be a luxury.

Middleton and Harden briefly clashed during the Eastern Conference Semifinals this past year, but a hamstring injury to the latter limited him for the most part. If all goes according to plan this year, the Bucks and Nets should meet in the postseason once again, and it would be thrilling to see these two gifted offensive players go head-to-head. They are among the best second options in the business, without question.
