Bold prediction No. 2 – Donte DiVincenzo shoots above 40 percent from behind the arc with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021-22

DiVincenzo’s improvement as a 3-point shooter was the most notable improvement in his game from his first two seasons to last year. After knocking down an ugly 31.8 percent of his triples on 3.5 attempts per game during his first two years, he bumped that all the way up to 37.9 percent on 5.2 attempts during 2020-21. While that was a welcoming improvement, there is still work to be done for DiVincenzo next season.

The Bucks are a team that loves to let it fly from 3-point range, and they will continue encouraging DiVincenzo and others to shoot the basketball with confidence. Understanding this, DiVincenzo is well aware that his outside shot will be a massive part of his success. Hypothetically reclaiming his spot as a starter, DiVincenzo will get his share of attempts, and it will be up to him to make good on those tries and show that his solid shooting last year was no fluke.

To do so, he will mostly have to focus on his catch-and-shoot game from behind the arc. Given the looks he will get from playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday, DiVincenzo will have plenty of open shots, and his quick trigger should help him find the net. DiVincenzo was great on catch-and-shoot tries last year by knocking down 38.1 percent of his triples on such attempts, according to NBA.com/stats.

If he can bump that percentage up a few ticks, it is not far-fetched to believe he could shoot well above 40 percent from deep on the season. DiVincenzo developing into a lethal shooter would undoubtedly bode well for his future with the franchise, and it remains a feasible goal for him.
