The Milwaukee Bucks have had an eventful preseason thus far, totaling a 1-2 record over their first three contests.

With two games left to go, the regular season is nearing, meaning the Bucks will have to make a few tough decisions to cut down on the roster. Looking at the contracts, there are some obvious players that will likely not make the 2021-22 regular season roster. Although these players have a couple more chances to make their case in this preseason schedule, here are three Bucks that will likely not be on the opening night roster when they take on the Brooklyn Nets.

Javin DeLaurier is among the least likely Milwaukee Bucks to make the roster

Looking to bring in some size for training camp, the Bucks signed Javin DeLaurier. Although the forward has yet to appear in an NBA game, taking a flyer on the 23-year-old from Duke was an entertainable move. With the team sitting most of their usual players during the preseason, he has appeared in all three games thus far but has not exactly had made the most sizeable impact.

DeLaurier has totaled six points, seven rebounds, and six personal fouls in 49 minutes of preseason action. The forward has struggled to make much of an impact despite the extended minutes off the bench, not exactly showing the aggressiveness needed to make an impression. He has attempted just five shots thus far, making two of them. While he did tally two steals against Brooklyn, not much has stood out defensively either. That lack of production could make him very flexible as the Bucks look to round out their roster before the new season begins.

The surprising emergence of rookie big man Sandro Mamukelashvili could also help ease the Bucks when it comes to their frontcourt depth. Mamukelashvili has been electric throughout his first three preseason games, taking on most of the spotlight. With the rookie already signed on a two-way deal, the Bucks feel should feel comfortable with their second round pick, which clouds DeLaurier’s future. Barring a breakout in the final two preseason games, DeLaurier will not make the final cut in all likelihood.
