Milwaukee Bucks: 3 players Sandro Mamukelashvili can learn from
Sandro Mamukelashvili could learn something from Milwaukee Bucks forward Semi Ojeleye
So far, the two players listed are both listed as power forwards on the Bucks roster, the same position that Mamukelashvili will likely play. There is a reason for it, though. Enter Semi Ojeleye, another player that signed with Milwaukee in the offseason.
Ojeleye, who previously spent four seasons with the Boston Celtics, is a 39 percent three-point shooter in his career. He is also known for his intense man-to-man defense, most notably tasked with trying to defend Giannis Antetokounmpo in recent memory. Ojeleye comes in with a chance to try and fill the shoes of P.J. Tucker, who signed with Miami this summer. Mamukelashvili can learn one thing from Ojeleye: the concept of “three and D.”
This term has been known around the league to identify players who are quality deep-range shooters on offense and can turn around and pick up a team’s best player on defense. Mamukelashvili already has a smooth three-point stroke, shooting 34 percent at Seton Hall, and he has the length and twitch to become a quality defender in this league.
It will be interesting to see how Ojeleye makes the Bucks better come opening night. It will be even more interesting to see if Mamukelashvili can take some pointers from his new teammate.
