Milwaukee Bucks: 3 players Sandro Mamukelashvili can learn from
Sandro Mamukelashvili could learn something from Milwaukee Bucks guard Donte DiVincenzo
That’s right. Mamukelashvili can learn a ton from Donte DiVincenzo in his first year. DiVincenzo also played in the Big East with Villanova, winning over the hearts of fans in his final year with the Wildcats by taking home the Most Outstanding Player Award at the 2018 Final Four.
The way that Mamukelashvili can learn from the fourth-year guard is his willingness to pass first. DiVincenzo has increased his assist total in each of his first three seasons, setting him up to do the same in 2021-22. Mamukelashvili has already proven his skill in shooting the ball. His offensive game was on full display, collecting 20 points and 11 rebounds against Brooklyn in his preseason debut against the Memphis Grizzlies recently.
There were a few moments against Memphis that garnered buzz that did not center around his scoring. He finished with three assists, but each of them displayed great court vision. The big man found Justin Robinson on a screen, a dump-down to Thanasis in the paint, and he dished out to Johnny O’Bryant for a right-wing three.
Mamukelashvili displayed a creative knack for dishing the basketball in college, so the ability is there, he just must unleash it. While DiVincenzo is not exactly known for his passing, it is quietly a strong part of his game that could rub off on Mamukelashvili.
There’s a lot to take away from his game, but Bucks fans should be excited about the Seton Hall product that can develop into a high-level role player in years down the road.
