3 overreactions to the Milwaukee Bucks first 3 games: Giannis Antetokounmpo has fully figured out his shooting problem

After much hand-wringing the last few seasons about how Giannis Antetokounmpo needs to be better from the free-throw line and how his jump shot is entirely broken, we now have definitive proof that this is here to stay and the two-time MVP has put it all together as a shooter.

He showed a re-worked jumper in the preseason which had everyone convinced this was the year. I was skeptical because we’ve seen similar improvements before from various players, only to see it go by the wayside once the season begins and they go back to their old habits.

It’s time to fully buy-in and believe that Antetokounmpo has figured it out and there will be no more changes coming. Sure, he changed his free throw routine multiple times last season and did so again to begin the preseason, opting for a shorter routine with one dribble and his mandatory deep breaths, but this is the time to believe!

He is shooting over 70 percent from the charity stripe after shooting under that mark the last two seasons (65.8 percent). Much has been made about how Giannis is a career 70-plus percent free-throw shooter for his career but couldn’t put it together in the playoffs, well now we’re back to 70 percent free-throw shooting Giannis and it’s here to stay!

As for his 3-point jumper, he’s shooting over 33 percent on around three attempts per game, his highest percentage mark since his rookie year when he shot 34.7 percent on one-and-a-half attempts per game. His jumper looks smooth and he is ready to continue at this level for the rest of the season.
