Giannis Antetokounmpo just misses out on notching a triple-double in the Milwaukee Bucks’ win over Indiana Pacers

Without Holiday and the other typical players that would be in Milwaukee’s lineup, much of the workload would fall onto the shoulders of Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak has looked solid to begin the new season, but he clocked in his best effort yet with a near triple-double in a big win over the Pacers.

Antetokounmpo finished with a game-high 30 points while shooting 10-of-18 from the floor, which included missing both of his 3-point attempts. Although the outside shot was not going down for Antetokounmpo, he looked great at the foul line. There has been plenty of discourse regarding his tweaked routine and form, and it appears to be paying off as he knocked down an eye-catching 10 shots in 13 attempts. He looks to be getting more comfortable from that spot, and it gave him a third of his points on the night.

In addition to the scoring, Antetokounmpo’s 10 rebounds gave him a double-double, but he was an assist short of getting the triple-double. Although he just missed the mark, the passing from Antetokounmpo was fantastic, as he looked to get his teammates involved as Indiana’s surplus of bigs tried suffocating him on the defensive end while tallying just two turnovers. He created good looks for Allen, who will keep benefitting from the open looks the Greek Freak generates for him due to that gravity offensively.

Antetokounmpo led the charge, but Khris Middleton deserves his props too. The forward finished with 27 points on 52.9 percent shooting while totaling five rebounds and seven assists. The Bucks will always be a tough team to beat when Antetokounmpo is nearly putting up a triple-double and Middleton is clicking offensively like he was. This duo just keeps getting better and better.
