Milwaukee Bucks: Tremont Waters is a great addition to the Wisconsin Herd

The last player on this list is Tremont Waters, the young guard from LSU that spent the first few years in the NBA with the Boston Celtics. He spent time with the Bucks in the preseason, so it is no surprise that they brought him in as a member of the Herd.

Waters was etched into LSU basketball history with his memorable game-winner against Maryland to advance to the Sweet 16 in 2019. Since that season with the Tigers, it may not have been the NBA career that Waters dreamt of. That doesn’t matter. He is still young (23) with plenty of skill to bring to the table. In his two seasons with Boston, he averaged 3.6 points per game in 9.2 minutes per game, along with a 31 percent 3-point clip. Numbers like that do not jump off the page, but with more playing time in a new environment, perhaps he could improve.

The Bucks have plenty of guard depth on their NBA roster, but a chance for Waters to battle for playing time with players like Lecque, Lindell Wigginton, and G-League draft pick Jaylen Bland, it can help accelerate his development for the future.

Waters will not likely see valuable minutes for the Bucks this season, along with many other players on this roster. However, the Bucks have had players in the past that have succeeded at the G-League level, earning them a spot on the roster come playoff time, like Frank Mason III. The two have a similar physical makeup and skillset, so Waters comes to the forefront in regards to players to watch for during the 2021-22 season. It will be hard for Waters to live up to the MVP billing that Mason did during his time with the Herd, but nothing is impossible.

Time will tell how these three perform with the Herd as they are set to return to action, but it will certainly be worth keeping an eye on. If they show enough potential, perhaps they could be worth calling up to Milwaukee at some point during the season, especially with these injuries.
