Turnovers spell doom for the Milwaukee Bucks in loss to San Antonio Spurs

This game was ugly enough due to Milwaukee’s poor 3-point shooting, but the turnovers made it practically unbearable to watch. The Bucks tallied an atrocious 19 turnovers in the loss, which was 10 more than the Spurs. They looked lost for most of the evening as these self-inflicted wounds hindered any chance of the Bucks securing the comeback victory.

Leading the way was Antetokounmpo, who logged seven turnovers. It was just simply an off night for the Greek Freak, as he looked off from the beginning. That seems crazy to say, considering he finished the game with 28 points and 13 rebounds, but the seven turnovers speak for themselves. Khris Middleton was close behind as he notched four turnovers of his own as he looked like a shell of himself for most of the night. The Bucks are not likely going to win many games when their two best players tally a combined 11 turnovers, which proved true last night.

The Spurs made the Bucks pay in this regard as they capitalized on these turnovers all night long until that final buzzer went off. They did a far better job of taking care of the basketball, and they managed to secure the victory because of it, unsurprisingly. Thinking of all those turnovers will sting for the Bucks as they were right there with the Spurs until the end, but it should be a lesson learned by the defending champs.
