The Milwaukee Bucks will need to put their losing streak behind them against the Detroit Pistons

It’s hard to give too much analysis for this game considering we don’t know who will be available for any given game. Khris Middleton missed the last game due to a non-COVID illness, so he may need to sit out tonight as well depending on how he’s feeling.

We all know Donte DiVincenzo will be out and, likely, Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez will as well after Mike Budenholzer said they’re both still rehabbing their respective injuries, though it sounds as if Holiday is closer than Lopez.

They should have both Bobby Portis and Semi Ojeleye in the lineup after they each sat out one game of the back-to-back set this past weekend, so that will help in terms of having more bodies in the lineup. Ojeleye has gotten off to a dreadful start offensively to his Bucks career, starting 0-of-10 from the field, all of them 3-point attempts.

It was clear before the season that the Bucks would be resting guys and slow-playing injury recovery because of their short turnaround from last year’s championship. No one should be overly concerned with how uneven Milwaukee has looked to begin the season, but it’s still never easy to see a team go through this kind of rough patch.

The Bucks are on their first three-game losing streak since April of last season. They had multiple three-plus game losing streaks last season due to various issues, but chief among them was when Holiday missed time with COVID-19.

Injuries or not, the Bucks will want to snap this three-game skid and get back to 0.500, especially against a team that’s projected to be near the bottom of the standings. They will start a five-game road trip coming up against teams that expect to be in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, so they’ll want to pick up as many easy wins as they can until they get fully healthy.

Although the Pistons have struggled, they’re still a team that has a lot of young players who will want to prove themselves against the defending champions, and the Bucks shouldn’t look past them.
