Jordan Nwora has 75 shot attempts this season, the fourth most on the Milwaukee Bucks

While everyone wanted to see Nwora improve his passing and defense, it was his scoring that would help him establish a role with the Bucks the most. That is why they giddily selected him in the second round back in 2020, as the potential has always been there for him to be a great scorer off the bench. They primarily kept him on the bench during his rookie season, but this potential was on full display during the Summer League and Preseason, and it was time to unleash it.

Over the course of these eight games, he has shown off his confidence with 75 shot attempts, the fourth-most on the roster. Of course, part of this can be attributed to the team’s wide assortment of injuries, which has opened the door for Nwora to get a larger workload. The forward has shown confidence with the opportunity, as evidenced by his shot attempts, but the shot is not falling as many would like. Nwora is currently shooting 37.3 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from three this season, struggling to get a grip on his offense.

Although he is struggling to knock them down consistently, Nwora will continue to get his shots, especially with all the injuries. Some nights will be better than others, but his efforts in the Bucks’ 117-89 victory over the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night showed significant promise. The forward finished with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-5 from long range. He looked great in the bounce-back win, and the Bucks could certainly use more performances like that from him as they battle the injury bug.

The shots will be plentiful for the forward, particularly with the Bucks losing another key player in Khris Middleton to a positive COVID-19 test. That will open up some minutes at the small forward spot, and Nwora must be ready to see extended time because of it.
