How will the Milwaukee Bucks contain the balanced attack of the Washington Wizards?

Unlike previous recent iterations of the Washington Wizards, this team has depth and multiple players who can post double-digit scoring marks each night. They have four players averaging at least 14 points this season: Bradley Beal (23.5), Montrezl Harrell (18.0), Spencer Dinwiddie (17.1), and Kyle Kuzma (14.0). This doesn’t include Kentavius Caldwell-Pope who is shooting 40 percent from 3 on around five attempts per game.

In the past, you typically had to worry primarily about Beal (or Russell Westbrook last season), but now they have other guys who can help carry the offensive burden. Dinwiddie appears to be fully healthy after last season, Harrell is a great regular season player that can carry a team through a game with his energy, and Kuzma has developed into a solid player that can fill in the gaps quite nicely offensively.

This all comes with Beal posting the lowest true shooting number of his career to this point at 49.4 percent, well below league average. Most of this stems from his 3-point percentage dropping off a cliff this season to a paltry 23.2 percent (compared to about 35 percent the last three seasons).

That being said, Beal is someone who can get hot in a hurry and if Jrue Holiday remains on a minutes limit, the Bucks will need to piece together a way to guard Beal while also trying to contain his new running mates.

There’s a reason the Wizards have gotten off to this great start and it starts with their more balanced roster. It isn’t as easy as “force the other guys to beat you” with Washington anymore because the other guys will beat you if you let them.
