After a brutal stretch of games, Jrue Holiday finally looks like himself again for the Milwaukee Bucks

Prior to Monday’s matchup, Jrue Holiday had been in a massive shooting slump, to say the least. Milwaukee’s starting point guard could not consistently buy a bucket over the past few games as he played like a shell of himself. After shooting 1-for-5 from the field and missing two free throws in the first quarter against the Magic, it looked like another poor showing was afoot. However, that was thankfully not the case as Holiday flipped the switch.

After a putrid first quarter, Holiday remained aggressive with the basketball offensively, and it paid off quickly. Holiday started finding success with his jumper by knocking down several stepbacks to get himself into a rhythm. After 23-and-a-half minutes of time, Holiday finished with a team-high 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 2-of-5 from deep. After a poor stretch of recent games, it was great to see the guard find his stroke offensively.

As always, Holiday also impacted the game in other facets, notably with his suffocating defense as he played great against Magic rookie Jalen Suggs. Holiday would snatch two steals against the Magic to get the Bucks running on the fastbreak. Elsewhere, he dished out four assists while not logging a single turnover, which is always a positive sign from the point guard. Whether it was his scoring, passing, defense, or even energetic presence, Holiday did some of everything for his team in the massive win.

Hopefully this performance can help Holiday establish a rhythm moving forward after he had been struggling to find his shot over the past few games. The Bucks are an even more dangerous team when Holiday is clicking offensively, as seen against the Magic.
