The Milwaukee Bucks currently find themselves on a five-game winning streak, their longest of the 2021-22 NBA season to this point.

All five victories have been at Fiserv Forum, and the Bucks capped off their homestand last night as they welcomed in the Detroit Pistons. Milwaukee was not messing around right out of the gate as they built up a double-digit lead fairly quickly and never looked back. The Bucks built up a lead that grew to as large as 24 points and would eventually secure the 114-93 victory as they picked up another victory over a Central Division opponent, something they have done more often than not. With that being said, let us take a closer look at three takeaways from the matchup.

The Milwaukee Bucks continue shooting the 3-pointer extremely well, which is a great sign after slow start

Outside shooting had been among the weak points for the Bucks as they went through some trials and tribulations early in the season. They have thankfully found some success from 3-point range during this homestand, and they kept the ball rolling with another great shooting night against the visiting Pistons. Shooting 15-of-36 from distance (41.7 percent), the Bucks clocked in an efficient outing from deep to propel the victory.

The one player that helped propel this shooting night was Bobby Portis, who has been heating up over the past few games. The big man continued riding the hot hand against the Pistons as he hit six triples in seven attempts. If this seems like deja vu, it is because Portis also shot 6-for-7 from 3-point territory two games ago against the Orlando Magic. For whatever, reason, he just cannot make one more triple to give himself a new career-high in 3-pointers made in a game. There will be more on Portis and his fantastic performance in a moment, but his perimeter shooting needed mentioning here.

Other players that shot the 3-pointer incredibly well included Pat Connaughton and Jrue Holiday, who both knocked down three apiece. Connaughton has become more reliable than ever before for the Bucks, so it is unsurprising to see him clock in another efficient game off the bench after his hot streak lately. Holiday’s shooting has been far more unpredictable this season, but as he shot 3-of-7 last night, it was clear that he is finding his shot once again. If Holiday can continue hitting those 3-pointers with regularity, the Bucks are only more dangerous.

It was a big night shooting the basketball for these three, and hopefully this team can take their newfound shooting momentum along with on the road.
