The (nonexistent) logic in this proposed trade between the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers

Anyone that watches the Bucks understands why the list here will be finite. Pat Connaughton has been incredibly valuable for this team over the past few seasons, and this trade would have many scratching their heads. Still, let us think of some potential reasons.

The first would obviously be Milwaukee’s current predicament at the center position. Starting big man Brook Lopez has appeared in just one game as he battles through back soreness. Milwaukee has missed him dearly, and there was some talk of adding a center, whether it be a player on the open market or a potential early-season trade. Adding Goga Bitadze would fit with the latter to give the Bucks another center while Lopez recovers. If they were absolutely determined to add a big man to the bench, Bitadze would be a solid option at 6-foot-11 and 250lbs while still playing on his rookie contract.

While Bucks fans toyed with the idea of bringing in another big man to add some depth, it seems like that chatter has quieted down lately. That could mostly be attributed to the strong play from Bobby Portis, who has been sensational as he continues playing the best basketball of his career while filling in for Lopez. Sure, Bitadze would help add some insurance in the second unit and give the Bucks some extra rim protection and rebounding while they wait for Lopez to return, but the hypothetical asking price here is just too far-fetched.
