Not even an elbow to the face can stop Pat Connaughton from having another fantastic game for the Milwaukee Bucks

Connaughton has been a lifeline for the Bucks this year, whether he is starting or coming off the bench. The guard is putting up the best numbers of his career, and he certainly improved those numbers once again with a sensational performance against the Nuggets, despite a scary hit to the face early on. Connaughton would leave the floor bleeding after taking an elbow to the face, which drew quite a bit of blood. However, he showed off his toughness by returning to the game.

Upon checking back into the game, Connaughton had one of his best games of the season by tallying 20 points on a near-flawless 7-of-8 field goal shooting. Most of Connaughton’s damage came from 3-point range, where he missed just one of his five attempts. This offense from the veteran helped increase Milwaukee’s aforementioned shooting numbers for the game as he was on fire all night long. His scoring will garner the most praise, and rightfully so, but he also helped the Bucks on the boards by bringing down four of his own.

Connaughton finished this game as a +22, the second-highest on the team behind Holiday. His impact was written all over this game, mostly due to the scoring, but also with his rebounding, defense, and just overall hustle. The guard has developed into the perfect role player for this Milwaukee franchise, and they are undeniably glad to have him aboard for the long haul. This performance against the Nuggets was special, and the Bucks will need him to keep it consistent.
