The Milwaukee Bucks have added some size to the frontcourt by signing DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins will provide a much-needed body to eat up some of the minutes at the center position as starting big man Brook Lopez deals with back soreness. With no timetable for Lopez, this was an easy move to make for the Bucks, although he might not be the DeMarcus Cousins of old. While he might not be given a sizeable role for the defending champions, Cousins could be a solid piece until Lopez returns. With all that being said, here are three Bucks that should help the big man feel right at home as he heads to Milwaukee.

While Cousins might not see much time on the floor with Bobby Portis, it will surely be fun if they do get some time together. Both Portis and Cousins are not shy about letting the world know how they feel, as the pair are known to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Portis has given the Bucks a massive jolt of energy in the starting five this season, and Cousins will do the same in the second unit with the immense intensity and toughness he brings to the table. These two should feed off one another’s energy in the event that they share the court simultaneously.

This one-two punch in the frontcourt should be extremely fun to watch. The Portis-Cousins duo should be great on the glass, helping create extra opportunities for the Bucks offensively. While both have been known to struggle defensively, the pair should help provide some rim protection to provide a formidable tandem down low. Still, the energy between the two remains the reason why they should get along so well. Even if it is just in practice, Portis and Cousins seem like the type of players to constantly push one another to be better. It would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall during one of their hypothetical one-on-ones.

Most of Cousins’ time will likely take place when Portis is on the bench catching his breath, but head coach Mike Budenholzer has shown previously that he will run supersized lineups to give the Bucks a size advantage. A duo of Portis and Cousins would certainly fit the billing in that regard. It all depends on the situation, so time will how often these two share the floor.
