The Milwaukee Bucks will need to keep the Toronto Raptors out of their transition offense

Despite their defensive struggles, the Raptors have been surprisingly effective on offense this season. Many expected them to struggle in the halfcourt, which they have. But through their transition offense, the Raptors are 10th in offensive rating over their last 10 games (112.0).

However, they may be without some big pieces to their offensive attack. OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. both missed their last game and are questionable to play tonight. That is two of the Raptors’ three leading scorers this season, a big loss.

The Raptors will still have Fred VanVleet (19.9 points per game, 56.8 percent true shooting), Pascal Siakam (17.9 PPG, 54.9 percent true shooting), and possible Rookie of the Year frontrunner Scottie Barnes (15.4 PPG, 54.1 percent true shooting).

They have traditionally been a strong transition offense because of a player like Siakam, but adding Barnes has also given them a boost when they get out and run. Similar to the Hornets, the Raptors are at their best when they’re running after steals, so being careful with the ball should be the Bucks’ top priority.

Especially if the Raptors are shorthanded, the Bucks will need to take advantage and can focus on slowing down VanVleet, Siakam, and Barnes. The Raptors have five players who average 15 points or more, but no one else is averaging more than eight points per game.
