Jrue Holiday delivered a herculean performance against his former team, but the Milwaukee Bucks fell just short

Fresh off a sensational performance against the Indiana Pacers, Jrue Holiday knew that he would once again have to lead the Bucks if they were to have any shot at winning this game. That is just what happened at the guard took the game by the horns right from the start, clocking in the best performance of his career, some would wholeheartedly argue.

Offensively, Holiday was tasked with carrying the load in the scoring department. He did just that by scoring a career-high 40 points in the matchup. Considering Holiday made just one 3-pointer in eight attempts, it is obvious that he was attacking the rim all night long. His patented left-handed finish was on display throughout, as well as an array of mid-range jumpers. He came up clutch for the Bucks as he knocked down several big shots late, including the game-tying shot in the fourth that eventually sent the game to overtime.

The biggest blunder of Holiday’s night was the final shot in the fourth quarter, where the guard failed to get it off in time. It looked like there was some confusion with the clock in those closing moments, which ultimately proved fatal as they went on to lose in the overtime period. In the end, this loss will sting, particularly because the Bucks lost a game where Holiday scored 40 points and tallied five assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Still, hats off to him for a great outing on a night where they were down so many players.
