Jrue Holiday and Jordan Nwora continue to build off of recent strong play as the Milwaukee Bucks defeat the Houston Rockets

Due to the recent injuries and illnesses that have struck the roster, Jrue Holiday and Jordan Nwora are two players that have seen an increased workload for the Bucks.

Holiday has been phenomenal while playing mostly without Antetokounmpo and Middleton over these past few games as he has looked like an All-Star. The veteran kept the ball rolling last night as he scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 2-of-5 from distance. When Holiday enters attack mode offensively, there are few players in this league that can stop him, and it showed throughout this matchup. Yet, he had some help this time around that helped alleviate a portion of the scoring burden off his shoulders, which allowed him to work as a facilitator and dish out 10 assists on the night. Another game, another double-double for Holiday. Unsurprisingly, the guard finished with a +/- of +26 in the game, tied for the best with Pat Connaughton. This recent string of games has shown why Holiday deserves to be an All-Star this year.

Though it would be hard to outshine Holiday’s contributions over these past few outings, Nwora has done his best to do so. The forward has received a larger opportunity lately by starting in the past few games, and he has taken advantage. He looked great in the win over the Rockets as he finished with 18 points, knocking down four of his eight 3-pointers. His overall offense was a bit shaky as he went just 7-of-18 from the floor, but he was still solid overall. After all, this move he pulled on Armoni Brooks was unreal and got Fiserv Forum cheering on their feet.

Both players continue to show how important they are for the franchise. While Holiday is far more established in the rotation, Nwora is looking for his opportunity, and he made another strong case that he should be earning more minutes with a great outing against the Rockets. Time will tell if he and Holiday can both keep up the strong play, but with so many question marks surrounding the current state of the roster, it would be a massive boost for the Milwaukee Bucks.
