A trade to bolster the second unit should be on the Milwaukee Bucks’ Christmas wish list

Due to all of the missed time between players, it is hard to assess the Bucks in totality. Yet, if there is one area that is concerning, it has been the second unit. Their bench has been among the least productive in the association as they rank 28th in points, 20th in rebounds, and 30th in assists per game this season. Numbers like that could prove troublesome as the season goes on, and though the Bucks could just stand pat until they start getting healthier, swinging a trade would not be the worst idea in the world either.

Three players that have struggled to produce off the bench this year are George Hill, Semi Ojeleye, and Rodney Hood. Hill, who was viewed as a great addition for the Bucks in the offseason due to their need for a backup point guard, has been far from impressive. The veteran is currently hitting just 29.9 percent of his 3-pointers this season, a career-low, while producing 7.4 points per game. If the Bucks made a trade for say, Dennis Schröder, it would immediately bolster their bench. Ojeleye and Hood have also been incredibly disappointing this season as they are putting up some of the worst numbers in their careers, and the Bucks could certainly improve.

The two most compelling potential trade candidates on the Bucks right now are DiVincenzo and Jordan Nwora. DiVincenzo has been dangled in trade talks before and with the emergence of Allen in the starting lineup, he could be expendable. Nwora has shown flashes of greatness during his second season in Milwaukee, especially lately with some fantastic play. If the team has a chance to move one or both of these players for a top-tier piece, it would be interesting. Still, moving on from Hill, Ojeleye, or Hood would likely be their first option before moving either of these two.
