3 Milwaukee Bucks’ goals before 2022 All-Star break: Finish close games

The Milwaukee Bucks have lost six games in January, and every one of them was by single digits. They lost those six games by a combined 37 points, an average of just over six points per loss. The Bucks are the defending champions and are made up of a group of experienced veterans, which are two reasons why this team should not have trouble closing teams out.

The Bucks have been missing some key players for some of these games but have had at least two of the big three of Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and Holiday playing in all of the losses.

Their first January loss came at the hands of the Detroit Pistons, in this game the Bucks managed just 42 points in the second half. Then in the first of two losses in January to Toronto, the Bucks mustered only 34 points in the second half.

Following a big win over the Brooklyn Nets, the Bucks lost back-to-back matchups with the Charlotte Hornets. Then the Bucks collected another signature win, blowing out the Golden State Warriors, then came the second of the two Toronto losses where the Bucks didn’t even crack 100 points with their worst field goal shooting night of the season at just 33.8 percent.

Then came the extremely unfortunate loss to the Atlanta Hawks, who the Bucks were up 12 on at halftime and led by five heading into the fourth quarter. The Milwaukee Bucks were outscored 17-9 in the last four minutes of this game leading Reggie Miller who was broadcasting the game to question if the Bucks lacked focus.

Whatever the issue may be with the Bucks finishing games, it needs to be remedied, the team can’t expect to repeat as champions by not finishing games, especially games they hold double-digit leads in at points. That being said the Milwaukee Bucks will likely embrace the All-Star break to get fully healthy and get prepared for another playoff run.
